In addition to the excitement and entertainment it provides, rocketry also has significant educational value. Model rockets transform kids into amateur rocket scientists, encouraging them to think about how the rockets work. Rocket building teaches kids the basics of propulsion, flight, and aerodynamics, and can help foster an early interest in science and engineering. Some painting, gluing and sanding are required for the Yankee. What You Need To Build: Scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter’s glue, hobby knife, masking tape, white 1/32 inch pin stripe tape or white paint pen, primer (white), paint (blue, red) and clear coat (optional). (Tools, construction and finishing supplies not included.)

What You Need To Launch (sold separately): Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and Electron Beam Launch Controller, Estes Model Rocket Engines (A8-3, A8-5, B4-4, B6-4, C6-5, C6-7), and Recovery Wadding. Four 1.5V high quality AA alkaline batteries are also required for launch controller (not included).
